As President, Reliance Entertainment, he is spearheading Group’s foray into the media and entertainment space. His core focus is to build significant presence and create value for Reliance in the Entertainment eco-system, across content and distribution platforms.

He is leading the Group’s content initiatives in Movies, Music, Sports and Gaming, Internet & mobile portals and delivery across the emerging digital distribution platforms like digital cinema, IPTV, DTH and mobile TV.

He recently led the Group’s entry into FM Radio. Reliance won 45 stations in the recent bidding and Reliance owned Adlabs will soon be the Radio station with the largest footprint in India.

Rajesh Sawhney comes to Reliance – ADAG from Times Internet Ltd., where he was Chief Operating Officer (COO). Rajesh is accredited with building “Indiatimes.com” from a start-up venture to a fast growing and profitable business - the leading player in India’s Internet, Mobile and E-Commerce space.

During his 14 years with The Times of India Group, Rajesh created successful businesses across several new areas, including Print, Radio, Retailing, Internet, E-commerce, Travel and Mobile value added services.

Rajesh is an Engineer and MBA, with a fellowship in Leadership & Globalization from the London School of Economics.
